DRUG ENFORCEMENT AGENCY NPO – Street Crimes Unit

Non-Profit Organization

Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) NPO operates independently of the government and works with police to combat organized crime, including drug offenses and other related matters such as Human Trafficking. The DEA NPO is known for its Street Crimes Unit, which is composed of former police and military members.

The Street Crimes Unit is a specialized, nine-member team within the DRUG ENFORCEMENT AGENCY NPO, composed of highly trained former members of the South African Police Service (SAPS) and the South African National Defense Force (SANDF). Each operative brings a wealth of experience from elite law enforcement and military units, significantly enhancing the unit’s capability to address and suppress urban criminal activity.

The DRUG ENFORCEMENT AGENCY NPO is structured into several focused operational divisions:

  • Street Crimes Unit

  • Vice Unit

  • High-Risk Unit

  • Hijacking Unit

The Street Crimes Unit and the High-Risk Unit is responsible for responding to the most dangerous and complex criminal threats.

Through strategic collaboration with Crime Intelligence and various Organized Crime Units, the Agency plays a critical role in dismantling criminal networks and safeguarding communities from high-impact crimes.
